The scoop

Hi! My name is Aylie Baker. I'm a mixed-media storyteller who believes in the power of listening.

Here I've tried to record the voices, thoughts, images, links, and stories of myself and others in an effort to explore the ways in which community and documentary work intersect.

In 2009 I was very fortunate to visit the Maldives, Palau, Yap, Chiloé, and the Canary Islands with a Watson Fellowship. In 2010 I traveled back to Chile as Middlebury Fellow in Environmental Journalism to write about Robinson Crusoe Island in the Juan Fernandez Archipelago.

I'm now living on dry land, in Vermont. But islands, like thoughts, like tides, are nebulous and ever-shifting.

I continue to blog, but at a different address, send me an email and I'll pass you the link.
